Dr Steven Blake FSA Dr Steven Blake was Museum & Collections Manager at Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum before retiring. He is a founder member and former Chairman of the Cheltenham Local History Society and is currently Chair of the Gloucestershire Local History Association.

Spokes in a Wheel: Roads and Turnpikes around Cirencester
David Viner is a former Chairman of the Society, currently Editor and Archivist. He will recall the Society’s Turnpikes Project of the 1980s/90s and its fieldwork recording local milestones and routes. The network of Turnpike Trusts, creating a Cirencester ‘hub,’ will be described and its modern legacy illustrated. His talk is based on his Presidential Address to Bristol & Gloucestershire Archaeological Society in 2020. Unfortunately the text is not available online.

The Arts and Crafts Movement in the south Cotswolds given by Mary Greensted
Mary has published and lectured widely on the subject of the Arts and Crafts movement. She was chairman of the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen from 2009-18 and is a trustee of Court Barn, Chipping Campden. Her talk will provide an introduction to the designer-makers working in the area from the 1890s.

The First Ever Olimpick Games
Celia Haddon Celia is a CAHS member and a keen supporter of the Cotswold Olimpick Games. After retiring from full time journalism, she took second and Masters degrees in applied animal behaviour. In addition to 30 or so books, she has written for newspapers and magazines, appeared on TV and radio, and is as knowledgeable about cats as the Olimpicks.

‘Soils, Snails and Stonehenge’ A day visit to Mike Allen and his environmental archaeology lab, followed by a guided walk along the Stonehenge Avenue.
